We partnered with Survival to Strength to refresh and rebuild their website while producing a compelling brand and interview video. This collaboration aimed to better communicate the organization's mission, create a scalable digital infrastructure, and provide a functional, user-friendly platform to engage with cancer survivors and donors alike. The Need for an Update

Survival to Strength reliance on WordPress, paper forms, and manual processes limited its ability to scale. The founder, an oncology nurse dedicated to helping cancer survivors rebuild their strength, was overwhelmed with administrative tasks, leaving little time to promote the nonprofit or focus on its core mission. Leads were increasing, but without an efficient system in place, the organization was at a breaking point—either slowing down growth or hiring additional administrative help.

 

To address these challenges, we implemented a strategic digital transformation, focusing on business efficiency, security, and user experience.

Building a Path to Strength

Survival to Strength is the only program in the Midwest offering one-on-one strength training tailored specifically to cancer survivors. The program fosters strength, resilience, and independence at any stage of the cancer journey.

 

To help convey this mission effectively, we worked closely with the founder to refine website messaging, ensuring clarity and engagement. The new website highlights the program’s personalized training approach, the holistic focus on well-being, and the transformative impact on participants' lives.

 

On-the-Ground Storytelling

To capture authentic perspectives, we filmed interviews with the founder and some program participants and trainers, documenting the real journeys of those who found renewed strength through Survival to Strength. The brand film highlights inspiring stories, such as participants progressing from limited mobility to impressive feats of strength, with the tagline “Strong Feels Good.”

A User-Friendly & Scalable Digital Experience

The redesigned website is more than just a facelift—it’s a tool for efficiency and growth. Key enhancements include:

 

  • Seamless Navigation – Clear pathways for visitors to learn about the program, connect with trainers, and make donations.

  • Integrated E-commerce – The ability to accept online donations and sell merchandise, helping sustain and grow the nonprofit.

  • Digital Client Forms – Replacing paper-based health intake forms with secure, HIPAA-compliant digital submissions, eliminating administrative bottlenecks.

  • Individual Email Accounts – Providing a more professional and organized communication system for the team.

Ensuring the security of sensitive health data was a top priority. We implemented HIPAA-compliant online client forms, allowing participants to submit health information with confidence while reducing paperwork. This not only safeguards privacy but also improves efficiency, enabling trainers to securely access critical data and spend more time focusing on clients rather than admin tasks.

Before this transformation, the founder was too bogged down with day-to-day operations to actively promote the nonprofit. Now, with streamlined systems in place, she can:

 

  • Scale the Program – Handle more clients without the need for additional administrative staff.

  • Increase Outreach – Focus on community engagement and growth rather than paperwork.

  • Own Her Digital Presence – Move away from WordPress limitations, gaining full control over website updates and marketing efforts.
